Proofing is therefore treated as infrastructure: specified, recorded, and tracked, not improvised with foam and good intentions.
The envelope is reviewed for the points that matter: service penetrations, thresholds, doors, drainage, gaps, and defects in the fabric. Each is recorded with its location and priority.
On listed or historic fabric, proofing is specified to respect the building, not scar it. Solutions are discreet, reversible where appropriate, and documented for the people responsible for the structure.
